| Description: String theory flux compactifications give rise to an enormous landscape of possible vacuum states for the universe. Studying both, the details of the vacuum structure of flux potentials and the dynamics of tunneling between vacua is crucial for building a working model of an inflationary stringy universe.
It turns out that taking proper account of the flux-induced warping of the geometry is essential for a better understanding of both flux vacuum statistics and the dynamics of flux transitions via tunneling. I will discuss some interesting results that arise in both of these areas when warping is taken to be non-negligible. (2:00 PM, Meyer 5th Fl. CCPP Lounge) |
