From Penn Station
Easiest: Taxi, about $7.
Via Subway: Travel time is about 20 minutes.
In good weather take the downtown A, C, or E train at 34 Street - Penn Station. Exit at West 4th Street - Washington Sq station. This station is on 6th Ave., with entrances at W. 3rd St and at Waverly Place. Walk East across Washington Sq Park to Washington Place near Broadway (see map).
In poor weather take any train uptown to 42 Street - Times Sq station, then transfer to downtown N or R line. Exit at 8 Street - NYU station which is on Broadway about 2 blocks north of Washington Place (see map).
From Grand Central Station
Easiest: Taxi, about $8.
Via Subway: Take downtown 6 train at 42 Street - Grand Central station. Exit at Astor Place station which is about 2 blocks north of Washington Place (see map).
From Port Authority
Easiest: Taxi, about $7.
Take the downtown A, C, or E train West 4th Street - Washington Sq station. This station is on 6th Ave., with entrances at W. 3rd St and at Waverly Place. Walk East across Washington Sq Park to Washington Place and Broadway (see map).
PATH train from New Jersey
Exit at 9th Street Station (6th Avenue and 9th Street). Walk Southeast across Washington Sq. Park to Washington Place near Broadway (see map).
From La Guardia, Kennedy or Newark airports:
Easiest: A car service will charge about $40 for a ride to CCPP from La Guardia or Kennedy. Charges from Newark airport will be higher.
By train: You can travel by AirTrain from Kennedy and Newark.
Via Shuttle: From La Guardia, Kennedy, or Newark Airport, take the airport shuttle bus to Port Authority Bus Terminal or Grand Central Station. Then follow the station directions above.
