The Sloan Digital Sky Survey is mapping one quarter of the of sky with unprecedented depth, wavelengh coverage, and spectroscopic follow up. Here at NYU, M. Blanton and D. Hogg perform important aspects of the data reduction and scientific analysis. SDSS collaborators at NYU also include A. Berlind, R. Scoccimarro, B. Willman, and undergraduates A. Quintero and N. Wherry. SDSS projects underway at NYU include: constraining cosmological parameters with the large-scale power spectrum; using the correlations between the galaxies' structures, their star-formation histories, and their environments to test galaxy formation theory; and placing limits on primordial non-gaussianities to test inflatio.

Funding for the creation and distribution of the SDSS Archive has been provided by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the Participating Institutions, the National Aeronautics and Space Administation, the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Energy, the Japanese Monbukagakusho, and the Max Planck Society. The SDSS is managed by the Astrophysical Research Consortium (ARC) for the Participating Institutions. The Participating Institutions are The University of Chicago, Fermilab, the Institute for Advanced Study, the Japan Participation Group, The Johns Hopkins University, Los Alamos National Laboratory, the Max-Planck-Institute for Astronomy (MPIA), the Max-Planck-Institute for Astrophysics (MPA), New Mexico State University, Princeton University, the United States Naval Observatory, and the University of Washington.
