I am a research scientist at NYU CUSP, the Center for Urban Science and Progress, and in the NYU CCPP Center for Cosmology and Particle Physics.

I study lightcurves, time series of light, in astronomy, with applications in stellar evolution, cosmology, and solar system science, and in the urban environment at the CUSP Urban Observatory, where the study of urban lightcurves enables sociological, ecological, economical inference

I am the LSST Science Collaborations Coordinator: in this role I facilitate the work of the international science community in preparing to the advent of the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope revolutionary survey, which will take a movie of the entire southern hemisphere sky every three nights down to 24th magnitude depth, delivering tens of Tb of data per night! I am also the co-chair, together with Rachel Street, of the LSST Transients and Variable Stars Collaboration: a group of over 200 scientists who are preparing to optimally use the LSST survey for transient science, and to assure that the survey design is suitable to support the study of the transient sky.
