Personal: I live in New York, with my wife Erin, son Andrew and daughter Heidi, pending our imminent move to Pasadena.

Professional: Currently, I am the Director of Carnegie Science Observatories, and on leave from my position as a Professor in the Department of Physics at NYU and member of the Center for Cosmology and Particle Physics there. The bulk of my research focuses on the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. The image above shows a small section of the Universe mapped by this survey, where individual galaxies are each shown as a single point.
