Abstract: The MiniBooNE anomaly has stood for over a decade, spurring investigations into low-scale new physics scenarios, from eV-scale sterile neutrinos to more exotic explanations. As the MicroBooNE experiment and others begin weighing in on certain interpretations of its results, it's certainly a good time to make sure we understand the anomalous results well. In this talk, I will summarize our current understanding of the short-baseline anomalies, including recent results from MicroBooNE, as well as some detailed scrutiny of MiniBooNE's background studies that may reduce the significance of the anomalous results drastically.
