Abstract: I will present a catalog of galaxies identified from the Mapping Nearby Galaxies at APO (MaNGA) sample that display variability in mid infrared wavelengths. The variability is determined using observations from the Wide Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) W2 [4.6μm] flux. I will also link the variability of these objects to Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) activity, and propose a modified criterion for selecting AGN in the mid-infrared. This work was conducted as part of an undergraduate honors thesis. |
