2 | 3 | 4 Victor Gorbenko, Quantum groups as global symmetries (2:00 PM - 3:00 PM) -- Abstract: Quantum group is a certain continuous deformation of Lie algebra, in the simplest case of SU(2). After such deformation currents generically become non-local, and so are the objects charged under symmetry transformations. Nevertheless, I will argue that such symmetries can be useful, in a sense that they constrain spectrum, correlation functions and other observables, in the same way as the ordinary symmetries do. I will demonstrate this in a particular example of a spin chain, and a CFT that arises in its continuum limit, in which a quantum group symmetry is present. | 5 | 6 |
